Privacy Policy
This policy explains how information is processed when you use the SnowFox VPN mobile application and its VPN connectivity, server selection, connection insight, support, and advertising features.
01Information We Process
SnowFox VPN processes limited information needed to deliver and maintain its features. Depending on how you use the app, this may include:
- App and device information, such as app version, operating system version, device model, language, network state, and technical identifiers made available by the device or integrated service providers.
- VPN session information, including the selected region or node, connection status, connection timing, exit IP address, and upload or download statistics displayed during a session.
- Technical configuration and authentication values required to establish and maintain the VPN tunnel.
- Diagnostics, error details, performance information, and security signals used to identify crashes, connection failures, abuse, or service problems.
- Advertising-related data that may be processed by advertising providers, such as advertising identifiers, approximate location inferred from IP address, ad impressions, interactions, and device or app information.
- Information you voluntarily provide when contacting support, including your email address and message content.
The current app does not require you to create an SnowFox VPN account.
02VPN and Network Data
When you connect, internet traffic is transmitted through a VPN tunnel and the servers or proxy infrastructure needed to provide that tunnel. Network requests and connection metadata may therefore be processed by infrastructure providers as necessary to route traffic, authenticate access, maintain reliability, prevent abuse, and comply with law.
SnowFox VPN is not designed to create a browsing history of the content of websites, messages, or files transmitted through the tunnel. However, no VPN can prevent destination services and necessary network providers from receiving the technical information normally required to deliver your requests.
The app may contact public IP lookup, DNS, or connectivity-check endpoints to verify tunnel availability and show an exit IP address. Those endpoints receive the requesting IP address and ordinary request metadata.
03How We Use Information
- Provide, authenticate, maintain, and secure VPN connections.
- Display connection state, selected server, session time, masked IP information, and traffic indicators.
- Remember device-local preferences and support reliable reconnection.
- Diagnose errors, improve stability, protect users, prevent abuse, and enforce applicable terms.
- Load, measure, limit, and display advertising, including ads shown after certain in-app events.
- Respond to support requests, legal requests, and operational inquiries.
04Permissions and Device Access
The app may request VPN permission to create and manage the system VPN tunnel, notification permission to support required foreground-service notices, and network-related access needed to detect connectivity and operate the service. The system displays the VPN permission request and you may decline it, but the core VPN function will not work without approval.
06Advertising
SnowFox VPN may display native or interstitial advertising after the VPN platform has started, including around connection, disconnection, server-list, or transition events. Advertising providers may use device identifiers and related technical information to deliver, cap, secure, and measure ads, subject to applicable consent and platform settings.
07Retention and Security
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including service operation, diagnostics, security, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. Device-local preferences remain until cleared or the app is uninstalled. Provider retention periods are governed by their services and policies.
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no device, transmission method, VPN system, or storage service can be guaranteed completely secure.
08Your Choices and Rights
You may disconnect the VPN at any time, choose another available node, decline optional permissions, adjust device advertising controls, clear app storage, or uninstall the app. Depending on applicable law, you may also request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or information about data processing by contacting us. We may need to verify a request before acting on it.
09Children
SnowFox VPN is not directed to children under 13 or the higher minimum age required in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided information may contact us for review and appropriate deletion.
10International Processing
VPN nodes, infrastructure providers, advertising providers, and technical services may operate in countries other than yours. Information may therefore be processed internationally, subject to applicable safeguards and legal requirements.
11Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect product, provider, legal, or operational changes. The revised policy will show a new effective date and will be made available through the app, distribution page, or the location where this policy is published.
